Celebrating Excellence Through Sports, Culture and Arts

Academic excellence is worth celebrating for, this brought prestige to
the university. University of Mindanao is known for its academic excellence.
Most of its academic programs are accredited by the Philippine Association of
Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) and the
Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP). Its Electrical
Engineering is the first in the country granted Level III Reaccredited Status.
Level III status is the highest accreditation granted by PACUCOAa seal of
excellence and quality in a given academic program. Its Architecture
Program is the first in the country to be granted Level I Accreditation. UM is
the first PACUCOA school in Mindanao granted Level III for various academic
programs and one of the top five (5) schools in the Philippines with the most
number of accreditation.
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has granted Center of
Development (COD) to its various academic programs, having the most
number of CODs in Mindanao. These programs are Business Administration,
Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Civil
Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Chemical Engineering.

The recently concluded 64th Intramurals was the most special event for
the UMians. A diversion from stressful classes and nose bleeding exams and
assignments, they proved that they are not only excellent in the academe
but also in sports, culture and arts.
Being a new student of UM, I experience the fun Id never experienced
before in my whole life. I see the eyes of the UMnians glittered with joy
during the CHEERDANCE competition and literary musical events. I cannot
paint the form of their faces tickled with laughter while witnessing the Rap in
bisaya, balak.and impromptu speech.
If are an art lover, you enjoy watching the Intrams scenic photography
and interactive painting. If you are a music lover, you also enjoy vocal solo,
vocal duet and quartet.

The most attractive activities in the UM Intramurals 2015 were the

sports events. There were different ball games like basketball, volleyball,
badminton, lawn tennis table tennis, sepak-takraw and soccer.
The 64th UM Intramurals is really a grand celebration, the very
memorable occasion UMnias can never forget.
