Title: Education testing: Assessment OF learning versus assessment FOR learning
CITATION: Siedlecki, (2012). Education testing: Assessment OF learning versus assessment
FOR learning.
ABSTRACT:
One of the major problems in [education
assessment] is the constant conflation of
assessment OF learning with assessment FOR
learning. Weve all been a part of education
testing conversations when we realized,
Hey, we arent talking about the same thing
here.
Next time, rather than just nodding along, I
suggest you dig into the disconnect and
discuss
away.

ANALYSIS/REFLECTION:
This article discusses the differences
between assessment OF and assessment For
learning. Teachers need to understand the
differences between assessment OF, FOR and
AS because each are different from each
other but they can all be present at the
same time, as highlighted in the article. By
understanding the differences between
learning throughout and the final knowledge
goal teachers will be able to better assess
their students and make sure they are
collecting the correct information.
