    Dr. Smith, Enclosed please find my lab report on single crystal x-ray diffraction. In this experiment, I grew a crystal of copper sulfate pentahydrate and analyzed its structure using x-ray diffraction. The crystal was mounted on the diffractometer and scanned over a range of angles. This produced a diffraction pattern that was indexed to determine the unit cell parameters and space group of the crystal. Analysis of the diffraction data revealed that copper sulfate pentahydrate crystallizes in the monoclinic system with unit cell dimensions of a = 6.97 Å, b = 15.18 Å, c = 6.28 Å, and β = 99.5°.
