The technical consultant are required to explore feasible alignments, select_most suitable alignment, carryout all requisite Survey and Investigation, prepare G.A.D., General Description of the bridge, BOQ, specifications & Cost estimate and prepare Detailed Design and Drawings of all the parts/components of major and. tninor bridge and it’s approaches and BOQ : keeping in view the detailed design, based on MORT&H standards and specifications of Government of India, Relevant latest 1.R.C. codal provisions, Roads & Buildings Department of Government of Gujarat standards and guide lines and sound Engineering practices. : Panchayat(R&B) Division, Vadodara has decided to appoint technical consultant for the services mentioned hereunder in the scope of work as follows: SCOPE OF WORK ‘The scope of Consultancy services shail include - (a) To carry out Preliminary & Detailed Field Surveys and collection of Data for proposed Bridge projects and approaches, * (b) To carry out Sub Soil Investigations for proposed Bridge projects and approaches. (©) To examine suitability of providing Bridge and approaches, General (d) To prepare General Arrangement Drawings and General lay out plans, Description of the project. to prepare Bill of Quantities and Cost Estimate tor proposed Bridge and approaches, (©) To prepare Detailed structural design of all components and to prepare Working drawings for alt components for proposed Bridge and approaches for approval and {0 prepare BOQ based on detailed design and consultant shali_ prepare specification for all the items included in. the BOQ as per MOST andéor R&B Deptt. Specifications. ABOVE MENTIONED SCOPE OF WORK SHALL BE CARRIED OUT AS SPECIFIED HEREUNDER After the letter of acceptance and belore star consultant has to arrange / attend one joint meeting with E.E. Panchayat(R&B)Di ing commencement of the work the sian, Vadodara and concerned field Engineer for technical discussion, (a) Field Survey Preliminary & Detailed Survey shall be carried out to cover the area of entire project and beyond as may be necessary showing of the plans with all the relevant existing details such as roads, rivers, mala, drains, Irrigation scheme/Dam, bridge on upstream and downstream, Road net work, on the both side of proposed bridge to suitable scale, Consultant shall study the Hydrology of the river section area inchudi catchments’area study, Various tatest data like HFL, the rivey section, Raih fall of the section-region, Velocity, flow pattern & direction, Natural drainage pattern, Silt factor, Obstruction calculations, maximum depth of scour etc. and to prepard hydraulics calculations accordingly. ; Determination of Design discharge, maximum depth of scour and effective linear ‘waterway shall be in accordance with el.103, 110 and 104 of IRC-5-1998, ‘The consultant shall submit signed two sets of survey data maps /-plans and: Hydraulic Calculation to with E.E. Panchayat (R&B) Division, Vadodara for scrutiny and approval. Based on above site survey and examination of all above data, the consultant with have to suggest a suitable outline o* Bridge structure with L-Section of Final Alignment and shall be got approved from with E.B, Panchayal(R&B Division: Vadodara CECOCLELCECEECOLECE OEE eaeeveceeceeeee ee ee (©) To_corry out_ soil inves ations for Bridge and_approaches_in_ the presence of concern ed technical field officer, After the selection of final alignment and outline Bridge Structure sub soil investigation may be carried out by taking bores in the presence of concerned technical field officer, at least at 30 mt, interval or at.piers / abutments locations of bridge whichever is more and taken up to a required depth depending upon the type and depth of foundations requirement from the existing ground levels. Drilling of bores and collection of soil samples for atleast one / two bore must be taken in presence of Government technical staff not below the rank of Assistant Engineer(AE)., whose counter sign must be matked on Bore Log of final sub soil investigation report submitted, Disturbed and undisturbed samples should be collected and SPT values should be recorded, All soil tests i.e. field and lab tests as required for designing the various components of Bridge structure to be carried out and should be tested by Government approved laboratories. SBC / ABP at the location of the foundation of piers / abutments of bridge and at the foundation levels of the retaining walls or any other important component shall be computed. Preliminary and Detailed sub-soil investigation and all field tests and lab tests shall be in accordance with cl. 704-IKC-78-2000 and Appendix-2 of IRC-78-2000. (d) To prepare General Arrangement Drawings and General lay out plans and to prepare Bill of Quantities, Specifications and Cost Estimate for bridge and approaches. Before preparation of general arrangement drawing for the’ bridge project to provide footpath or not, other services, High level / Submersible, Carriage way width or any other requirements shal) be done in consultation with E.E. Panchayat(R&B)Division, Vadodara Based on above site survey and detailed sub soil investigation reports the Consultant will have to suggest a suitable structure of bridge. The suggested bridge structure should be economical, aesthetic in appearance, a viable for speedy construction with modern techniques, better earthquake resistant. As soon as comments or suggestions are received from with E.B. Panchayat(R&B) Division, Vadodara on the General arrangement drawing and preliminary report, the consultant will carry out necessary modifications and submit final General Arrangement Drawing, lay out plans and General Description of the project.
