STEAM Education

Using STEM Education to develop; Innovators, Educators, Researchers and Leaders.

STEM based learning experiences enrich classroom instruction and provide a multi-faceted approach
that ensures that all students have access to high-quality learning opportunities in the areas of
Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. Manipulation and experiential learning gives children
a reference for importance of building capacity. STEM learning processes address the diversity of all
learning styles and strengths, which provide every student with an engaging opportunity to succeed in
the classroom.
The following illustrations are examples of using STEAM based learning techniques coupled with a
hands on problem based approach to solve various problems.
.

Real world examples of analyzing

measurement using yardsticks get students
interested in engineering and technology
and its connection to creating real world
structures.

Students created real world images of

angles, perpendicular lines, etc. Then
they used Microsoft Word to identify and
draw various angles. They then used the
images and used multimedia to display
their findings.

Looking at things from different Angles!

Taking an unusual concept such as Line

Plots led us to examine Data from an
election poll. I extended the lesson by
giving the task of finding the Median,
Mode and Range.

Graph It!
There is more than 1 way to represent data. My students explore the best ways to
represent data. They examine various graphs, and line plots.
