The Crane

I trudged along
through the swelter and sweat,
as crickets sang soulful
Blues.
Deep Blues like the
Indigo twilight
streaked with
unraveling cirrus stripes and
Hues.
Hues of glowing Gold,
illuminated by bold
bulbs of trumpeting triumph,
shot out like a metal branch
from the treetops
Green.
Growing Green buildings,
efficient and new,
and yet itself worn and rusted.
Industrial and imposing.
The most constructive and destructive
sight Ive ever
Seen.
A scene of towering
Intimidation.
Yellow chipped bars
criss-crossing upwards
into the abyss
Black.

Tawny-Black steel,
sleek and still.
Lifeless
while Nature
slumbers,
biding for panther
Attack.
