Heart Channel

1. The Heart Channel of Hand Shaoyin originates from the heart. Emerging, it spreads over the
heart system (the tissues where the heart connects with the other organs).
2. It descends through the diaphragm to connect with the small intestine
3. A branch of the channel separates from the heart system
4. and ascends along the esophagus to connect with the Eye System (the tissues where the eyes
link with the brain).
5. The straight part of the channel derived from the Heart System runs upward towards the lungs
6. Then it turns downwards and emerges from the axilla Jiquan
7. Then it goes along the posterior border of the medial aspect of the upper arm Qingling {behind
Hand Taiyin and Jueyin}
8. and enters the elbow Shaohai {cbital fossa}
9. From there it descends along the posterior border of the medial aspect of the forearm to the
pisiform bone of the wrist
10. and then it enters the palm Shaofu
11. Then it travels along the radial side of the little finger and terminates at its tip Shaochong
12. and links with the Small Intestine Channel of Hand Taiyang
a) There are total 9 acupoints in the Heart Channel
b) The 1st acupoints of the heart channel is Jiquan and the last acupoint is Shaochong
c) Heart channel does not have crossing/intersecting acupoints with other channel

Summary of indications
1. Disorders of chest and
cardiac
2. Disorders of cardiovascular
system
3. Mental illness
When this channel is disturbed there will
be symptoms
1. dryness of the throat
2. cardiac pain
3. and thirst known as Bi Jue

** Cardiac pain, restlessness and palpitation are


not the main indication of the Heart acupoints,
and there are usually treated by Pericardium
acupoints. This is due to the pericardium is
replacing heart to get ill when the pathogen evil
