Family Pedigree Activity

Your task will be to complete a family trait inventory similar to the

one we did in class at the beginning of our unit on genetics. You
will be using this inventory to create a pedigree due when we return
from Spring Break on Monday April 4, 2016. At a minimum, you
should inventory one family member from each of three generations
that are related to you by blood, but the more family members you
inventory; the better your pedigree will turn out. For example, you
should inventory at least one grandparent, one parent and yourself.
Aunts, uncles, cousins, and siblings will add to your pedigree. Make
sure that you are aware of how each person you inventory is related
to you.

Choose ONE of the following traits to inventory and fill in the data
on the accompanying chart:

Hitchhikers thumb / straight thumb

Widows peak / straight hair line
Dimples / no dimples
Cleft chin / no cleft chin
Hand crossing: right thumb on top / left thumb on top
Tongue Roller / Non- Roller
Freckles / No freckles

If you would like to inventory another trait please get an okay from
Mrs. Utter before you leave for break.
