Ashley Stolk worked in my fourth grade classroom from August 2014 to December 2014. She completed her student teaching minor practicum for her masters degree in Education at Northwest Christian University during this time. Ashley was hardworking and enthusiastic. She quickly became a part of our fourth grade teaching team at Ridgeview. Her dedication to children was clearly shown and she worked very hard to meet the needs of all our students. Ashley was responsible for designing and implementing a unit on the Oregon Regions in Social Studies. She created lessons based on the state standards and district guidelines. Ashley did an outstanding job working with the students on this month long unit. Her excellent use of technology enhanced her lessons and motivated students. Ashleys careful attention to detail and her ability to break down specific skills ensured that all students were successful. She also worked hard to keep the students challenged and adjusted her lessons to meet all students needs. Ashley was extremely organized and put a great deal of effort into each lesson she taught. Ashley was professional and hard working. She quickly established good rapport with both students and staff members. Ashley has excellent classroom management skills. The children were drawn to her because she has a natural ability to communicate and motivate them to learn. Ashley communicated expectations for behavior clearly and responded consistently with positive reinforcement. She addressed the social and emotional needs of each student, and guided them in a positive manner. Ashley created a positive environment where academic learning and character building could occur. Ashley Stolk is an outstanding teacher. She is professional, hard working, and dedicated to providing a positive and nurturing learning environment for children. Ashley has a great deal to offer students of all ages. I feel Ashley Stolk would be a valuable asset to any district fortunate to hire her.
