Shel loathing Bxclionte March, 2016 To Whom It May Concern, Itis my pleasure to write this letter to recommend Christopher Brown for an elementary teaching position. Thad the privilege of working with Chris as his mentor teacher during the 2015/2016 school year. Chris completed his year-long internship with me in a 4th grade Classroom of 27 very diverse students. He is intelligent, reflective, and works hard to provide quality instruction in the wide range of subject matter presented in an elementary school. Charis is a thoughtful planner, putting hours of preparation into each of his units. Upon receiving feedback, Chris is careful to make thoughtful changes to his instruction to better meet the objectives. Making learning fun and engaging for students has been an area in which Chris has grown, He has worked hard to research ways to keep his students engaged, regardless of the subject or concepts being taught. Throughout his year-long internship, Chris learned a great deal about the myriad demands and responsibilities that professional teaching requires, and worked hard to juggle the many responsibilities outside of planning and teaching. During his lead teaching he successfully assumed all instructional responsibilities, including parent-teacher conferences Chris is clear and firm about his expectations for student leaming targets and behavior, and establishes routines and structures to help ensure they are met. He models the behavior he expects from students, such as respect, hard work, and engagement. Chris then employs consistent management strategies to maintain these expectations. Chris even developed a comic book club that met at lunch time. This allowed him to connect with struggling students and continue to build relationships with them. Christopher Brown will be a valuable addition to an elementary school staff. He is introspective, hard-working and willing to try new things.
