Todays world due to the modernisation becomes a global

village. Owing to the rise in population and polarization of

people towards mega cities from small towns, the people of
small towns are enthralled by the luxuries life of metropolitan
cities. But, this issue leads to other social troubles for the
people as well. However, this issue has many causes and
effects on the society.
There are numerous reasons why people migrate to big cities
from rural areas. Firstly, they want opulent amenities of life and
elegant lifestyle which they cannot get in rural areas. However,
tremendous amount of employment and job opportunities
available in the urban areas. Secondly, cities offer better
infrastructure, better health and education services and
transportation facilities. The lucrative opportunities are offered
by the various sectors for skilled works. Also, people enjoy at
recreational places like amusement parks, restaurants and so
on. But, this luxurious life they cannot get in the rural areas.
Moreover, migration of people causes dense population in the
cities and disastrous overuse of natural resources while the
rural context loses its economy and cultural depth. People work
from dawn to dusk, due to longer working hours life becomes
hectic, busy and troublesome. People of urban areas are more
egocentric, they are not connected with their roots, they do not
know about their cultures and traditions, they forget their moral
and ethics and they live exotic life. Even though, students who
live in the urban areas sometimes may indulge into the bad
company.
According to my perspective, government should find solution
to aiding the development of rural areas. In addition,
Government must improve the infrastructure of small towns so
that dwellers in those areas also better standard of living, good
health and education facilities. Furthermore, adequate
employment opportunities should be crated in small towns so
that people of such areas easily earn their livelihood.

In conclusion, I firmly believe that if we have to make balance

in society, economy and culture. Government should check the
migration rate and take some positive steps towards the
development of small towns.
