Itis my sincere pleasure to recommend Lindsay Sarich for your Child Life Internship. As a student in the Therapet
Recreation Department at she University of lowa, Lindsay displays impeccable skills. Lindsay is a motivated student
‘with the ability to adapt to situations easily and has a “go with the flow ease and calmness that is impressive.
‘As a student in our Inclusive Recreation sub-track, { have had Lindsay in my Therapeutic Recreation: Rehabilitation
course and as a student in Inclusive Recreation this semester. Lindsay excels academically and within a group
environment. The Rehabilitation course designed for students to gain experience applying the APIE process with a
Client by working intensely for 8 class periods one-on-one with 2 client at an agency. Students then write a treatment
plan that includes assessments. writing goals and objectives as well as planning and implementing age and
developmentally appropriate interventions and evaluations to determine the effectiveness of the program plan. Lindsay
utilized the Ages and Stages assessment tool with her 3 year old client; appropriately identified goals and objectives. as
‘well as planned and implemented activities that were both effective and creative to make positive progress toward the
set goals.
During the inclusive Reereation course, Lindsay and a partner planned an inclusive Minute-to-Win-it program for
students in the UI REACH program. a transition program for students with cognitive. intellectual and learning
disabilities, UI REACH staff commented that the program was run effectively, stating that they ‘clearly explaining,
expectations.” ‘created enjoyment and active engagement,” and that the activities were wel! planned and executed.

which I believe makes students a well-rounded intern and future practitioner. She is committed to learning, inquiring
about additional opportunities and resources to enhance her knowledge. This exemplifies the type of students Lindsay
js- dedicated to the profession and excited to learn and gain experience. She demonstrates a natural ability to
connect with others with her infectious optimism. In short, Lindsay Sarich displays immense responsibility both
in the classroom as well as in practice and give her my highest recommendation.
