Title Post Intubational Laryngo-Tracheal Stenosis Our

journey over 7
years.
Presenting Candidate Dr Sohil Gala
Aims and Objectives - To optimize the surgical
management protocol for post Intubational LaryngoTracheal trauma patients who presented to our institute
over the last 7 years.

Material and Methods - A series of 68 patients were

studied prospectively and retrospectively over a period of
7 years, and results were evaluated.

Summary - It is important to understand the periintubational circumstances so as to recreate the

evolution of the stenosis. A majority of acute
intubational trauma if detected and dealt with in a timely
fashion can prevent long term stenotic sequelae. It
becomes increasingly difficult at each subsequent
attempt to reconstruct the laryngotracheal tree to a
functional state. . The site of tracheostoma can play a
key role in determining the staging, and eventual
outcome of the surgery

Conclusion - Judicious surgical timing and choice of

appropriate surgical procedure can ensure that the first
corrective attempt is successful
