Notes:
Rapid uncontrollable growth and h of cells.
Cancer cells have lost the ability to control their own
production and growth
*Genetics: Certain genes or DNA can make a person
more susceptible to cancer
*Environmental Triggers: Factors such as pollution,
smoke, diet, too much sunlight, etc...
*Overall Health: Leading an unhealthy lifestyle can
help lead to cancer.
*Random: Sometimes we just dont know
Substance that can cause injury to the health of a living thing
on contact or absorption.
Dosage: amount and frequency ~
The chemical or physical form of the substance. ~
The mode of entry into the body ~
Body weight and physiological conditions of the victim,
including age and sex. ~
The time period of exposure~
The presence of other chemicals in the body or in the dose.
~

Summary: Cancer is a disease that kills millions each year because there is no cure. In class, we read a quote by
Paracelsus that was basically stating that too much of anything can harm or even kill you. I agree with this quote
because consuming too much of anything can lead to serious consequences. For example, drinking too much
water can cause the level of salt, or sodium in your blood to drop too low. It is very serious and can be fatal. As
you can see, even the things that we consider healthy can harm us.
