Channel Bandwidth

Bluetooth divides transmitted data into packets, and transmits each packet on
one of 79 designated Bluetooth channels.
Each channel has a bandwidth of 1 MHz
Bluetooth low energy uses 2 MHz spacing, which accommodates 40 channels.

Basic and Extension Topologies


Bluetooth devices have the ability to work as a slave or master in an ad hoc
network.
The types of network configurations for Bluetooth devices divided into three.
i.

Single point-to-point (Piconet) : consists of 1 master and 1 slave device

ii.

Multipoint (Piconet) : consists of 1 master and up to 7 slave devices.

iii. Scatternet : is a group of Piconets linked via slave device in one Piconet
which plays master role in other Piconet.
