Direct Instruction- During a tape measure
reading lesson I would utilize this option by
first giving a short lecture on basic skills
required and give a few simple
demonstrations explaining the increments on
a tape measure.
Indirect Instruction- An example of this would
be having a few examples of blank tape
measure problems on a white board and have
a student attempt to solve the problem and
describe the steps taken to complete it.
During this instruction I would assist with any
issues.
Experimental Learning- Once I feel a student
is competent in solving a basic tape measure
problem I would have the student give a brief
explanation to the class on how he/she

utilized the skills learned to complete the

assignment. I feel this would be a good
example of how a problem could be solved
more than one way.
Independent Study-Staying with the tape
measure lesson theme, I would design the
framework by giving a homework assignment
that would consist of measuring any item in
the shop, documenting it and then have the
fellow students verify the measurement.
Interactive Instruction- During this lesson I
would have the students explain how there
are different ways to read a tape measure.
For example is aslo 2/4,4/88/16 and so
on.
