World Views
Yes! I do believe in God, because how would have all this have come
about, how would creation have started. In Genesis 1:1 it says In the
beginning God created the heavens and the earth. To me this serves as a
conformation that God is real and that him alone created this world were
on. Dont get me wrong I had my doubts, I began to search how other world
views see creation and how they tell their stories of creation. Coming from
a family of two different views on faith. I know my Christian faith on how
creation started and how this world appeared and how life on earth began.
But when I talked to my grandparents who are Navajo tradition, I asked
them about how creation stated according to the Navajo tradition. The thing
that caught my attention was how they believed creation started. The way
my grandparents told me is that first man and first women were created or
placed on top of two different mountains. These mountains would become
scared beings to the Navajo people. As the story went on they believe that
they came through so many worlds bring with them sin or bad gifts. The
way the bible tells us today is that we fell into sin when Eve took a bit of the
fruit from the tree of good and evil. I left that night knowing how my own
grandparents saw creation and how different each of us saw creation. As I
read my bible and prayed and ask God to show my things that my little
brian can understand. I researched many other faiths about how creation
started and to my surprise I found that all religions or faiths are almost alike
to the bible or maybe even the same. Around the world many faiths tell
stories of how creation began and stories of how their creator is. But none
of these religions have a hard copy or book on these events. Many of these
stories are passed downed by elders but these stories can be changed as
they are being told. But the bible is whole and nobody over the years has
changed it. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was
with God, and the Word was God.
How I defined truth is probably by my parents but truth has to come
from somewhere and that is where the bible comes into place. But how do I
know what you're telling me is true is what some people might say and I
going to tell you is put it to the test and found out for sure it's true. In the
bible the prophets tell of wonderous stories of what our savior has done.
But if you read about how Noah save the animals form a flood or how

Moses lead Gods people out of Egypt. Research and look into it and found
out what you can and read the bible which to me holds all of life questions.
Let God tell you it's true there is answer out there but it's up to you to go
out and found out what they are. The bible tells us that Jesus Christ is the
unlimit truth in this world and if we want to get to the father we have to go
through him first. John 14:6-7 Jesus answered, I am the way and the
truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me. If you
really know me, you will know my father as well. From now on, you do
know him and have seen him.
God created our world so perfect and beautiful that he wanted to
create beings in his own image to take care of creation so beautifully made.
As always God's intention are always good and his will is so perfect. I once
heard a man say Everything on Earth is good because God put it here for
us, its man that uses Gods gift in evil ways. To me I believe this is true
because God didn't create this world for us to kill and devour each other,
God doesn't work like that. Genesis 1:4 God saw that the light was
good, and he separated the light from the darkness. Throughout
Genesis God creates things from the sea to the land, from the animals of
the land to the fish that swim in the sea. He says after he creating
everything living thing on earth hes says it is good. Creation is meant to
be perfect and pure because God is perfect. But as God created the world
he felt a need to make something that would take care of his creation. This
is where man comes in, God created man in his image and just as God
made Adam. Adam had the power or choice of God to do as he pleased,
when God told him don't eat from the tree of knowledge. But Adam made
his choice and it was the wrong choice. Because of Adams choice man is
sinful and to these day we still struggle with sin. When we are born we
come into this world with sin. So how I see creation is that we are sinful,
every human being is sinful everybody has done wrong. Its because of
Adam's choice that we are still suffering to this day. The blessing of the
Gospel is that we can be saved through Jesus Christ and be made fully
whole and right with God. This is why God sent his son because God know
that the creation he so perfectly made fell to sin, to evil. So in the beginning
God made this world perfect but sin came in by man and God told Adam
you're going to suffer and because of this choice you made here.
In this world we live in today there are a lot of laws that are put in
place to protect us and keep us safe. As it is in the bible, God put laws here
on earth for us to live by so that we may live in peace with him. In the book

of Exodus Moses goes up a mountain to meet with God about the laws that
him and the rest of his followers should follow. In some of the laws it tells us
to love the lord our God with all our heart another one is to thou shalt
have no other Gods before me.If you read the book of Exodus, God is very
clear on what he wants us to do but God understands that human people
are sinful people in nature so he had to bring a greater satisfies to bring his
people back to him. God is good and everything we do here on earth is
sinful at heart. But is God is a forgiving and loving God and in his word he
tells us how to live from the old testament to the new testament, God is
never done instructing his people. And its because God loves us that he
layed rules for us here on earth but as it says in Romans 3:23 For all
have sinned and fall short of the glory of God that is why in the bible
we have rules and when we break those rules God still forgives us, but its
up to us to heed Gods warning and live for him so we dont get into
anymore trouble. It is human nature to do wrong things but that what God
already knew and when we think we're one step ahead of God, hes two
steps ahead of us.
I think we all come to a point in our lives when we question why we
are here what is the purpose of my life. For my I had the same question as
a young teenager I begin to look for the purpose of my life and I found that
purpose in Christ Jesus. Jesus said in Gods word that if I live for him he
will give me the desires of my heart. But there had to be a bigger picture
why am I here? Im such a sinful person! God what is it that you want with
me. As I began to learn what it truly means to become a follower of Christ,
It meant that I would soon find my purpose. In our daily lives we each have
a gift, and that gift is from God which is supposed to be used for his
kingdom. In the body of Christ there are many functions, I cant scratch my
back without an arm and I cant feed myself without a hand. So it is with all
of us, if we all search for our purpose that only God can give who knows
what things we could do for this world. If we are lost and don't know what
are purpose is in life and just want to give up and throw in the towel. Come
to Jesus and he will tell you what needs to be done in his kingdom. As it
says in Luke 10:2 He told them The harvest is plentiful, but the
workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore to send out
workers into his harvest field.
In my christian walk Ive seen death first hand and in all aspect of life
death is just another thing that we have to go through. All families have
experienced death one way or another but for a follower of Christ it's other

milestone. To and unbeliever death measn the end point or end of lifes
jounerny. But there is a living hope that I myself believe in today, it is the
blessed hope that comes from Jesus Christ. Many people fear death but in
Christ there is nothing to fear, in Christ we find hope. Regardless of who
you are or how much money you make, we're all going to face death one
way or another. But in Jesus Christ we find hope that death isn't the end
and that we don't have to be afraid to live our lives. In the book of John
Jesus says John 14:2 My fathers house has many rooms; if that were
not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place
for you?. Death is something that were all going to face but its human
thinking to be scared but in Christ he ensures us that he is preparing a
place for us in his fathers house in heaven. To many non believe death is
an omen which one isnt supposed to talk about but the thing that gets me
is when someone dies do they become the devil because they are dead.
Ive seen my traditional family point of view on death and they say not to
see a dead person and burn all there stuff. To me and I believe God doesn't
tell us to forget our love ones especially those who lived their lives for him. I
grieve for my love ones who have gone home in the name of the Lord but
my father in heaven ensures me that they're in good hands. Ive learned its
ok to cry and mourn for our family that went home. In the book of
Ecclesiastes God tells us that there is a time for everything under heaven.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 There is a time for everything and a season for
every activity under the heavens a time to be born and a time to die
and a time to plant and a time to uproot. Ecclesiastes 3:4 a time to
weep and a time to laugh a time mourn and a time to dance. God tells
us that were are going to be going through things like death buts its for only
a season. But if we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior into our lives
we can be comforted knowing that death is only the beginning.
Why I do believe in Jesus Christ? To tell you why I believe in Jesus I
have to tell you my story. My life hasnt been all that perfect I am such an
ugly person Ive done so many horrible things to myself and to my family.
But as I got older I knew that I couldnt been doing this over and over again.
In my seventeen years on this earth I felt the pain of death, sickness,
greed, lust, and hatred. My parents went to church and so did I, but I never
really put into practice what my parents taught me. I was constantly scared
that I would be caught and scared of what people thought of me. But one
die I started crying and asked Jesus to come into my heart and forgive
everything evil that I have done. One thing that I always wished for is to
start over and begin a new. That hope and that I wished for was found in

Christ Jesus, the Gospels ensures us that God is the God of forgiveness
and his mercy and grace is ours to have. Im not the only one who wishes
for a new the bible already tells us that God knows that man is sinful at
nature. But God put a hope on his good earth, by sending his son into this
dark world that his light might shine. I believe in Jesus because it is through
him that I can start a new and that my former sin have passed away and
God remembers them no more. John 3:16-17 For God so loved the
world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him
shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son
into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through
him.
Christianity is my faith and it's all I believe in. I don't believe in the
Navajo tradition way or any other world views, I solely believe in the bible
and have accepted Jesus Christ into my life. The church is God army who
all have the same purpose, to serve him and bring the blind to him. My
views on Christianity is that I believe with all my heart that it is the Church
of the Lord and the people who are involved are people who want to do his
work.

Really appreciated the section on Purpose - I love how you tied in I Corinthians 12
and Luke 10:2 into this!
Appreciated how you wove in a little bit of your testimony (and your willingness to
share that) and your reasoning for believing in the Bible over tradition (that you
expounded a little bit on in the beginning).

Questions:
1.

You mention you believe in the creation account as it is written in Genesis - how
would you defend this to someone who believed in evolution and rejected God? (check
out www.creation.com; or www.icr.org or www.answersingenesis.org and pick a few
articles to read that may help you.

2.

You believe the Bible is Gods Word and that it is truth whether people believe in it or
not - how would you explain why you believe the Bible is Gods Word and is truth to
someone who doubted (come up with at least 5 reasons)?

3.

You mention that Jesus is the only way to God - our culture would label you as
intolerant, arrogant, narrow-minded and bigoted because of this - how would defend your
position - why cant people get to God through whatever path that they want?

4.

I loved what you said in your section about purpose - especially how you ended it
talking about gifts and the harvest. How do you foresee yourself in 2016 as well as in the
years to come living that out - serving God and His people with your gifts and bringing
the lost to Him?

5.

You spoke about death saying that for an unbeliever death is the end - do you believe
in a hell - explain, and use Scripture to defend your view.

6.

What are ways that you think the Navajo Traditional ways are similar to Christianity
and what are ways that you perceive as key differences? And how do you think you can
be an effective witness for Jesus Christ among those who hold a traditional Navajo
worldview (think 3 As - Ask; Admire; Admit)
