Tourism stakeholders in Lamu and Manda want the British

government to lift travel advisories still in place affecting the two
Islands following major security investments made by the
government.

Timmamy led tourism stakeholders in lobbying for the travel
advisories to be lifted during a sector meeting attended by British

The travel advisory has been in force for the last five years, the
government has done its best, gazetted 12 police stations in the
county, deployed nine armoured police vehicles besides other
patrols, Balala said.

Tourism has been highly affected by advisories hurting the

investors to improve on their products and services, to continue
attracting repeat tourists.

affecting Lamu, we have gotten a good brief on the security
measures that have been put in place and I shall share this with
my government for consideration, British High Commissioner Nic
Hailey.
He said his security team will be reviewing security situation
constantly for necessary steps as soon as possible.

was real and invited Hailey and his family for a three day tour of
