16647 Wyoming Detroit, MI 48221 Subject: Letter of Recommendation for Roxanne Rodriguez To Whom It May Concern: This is a letter of recommendation written on behalf of Ms. Roxanne Rodriguez, a BSW student in the School of Social Work at the Wayne State University who is applying for the internship at the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence. I am an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work at Wayne State. I was also Roxannes instructor for the Social Work 3510 (Human Behavior in the Social Environment) and Social Work 3110 (Diversity, Oppression and Social Justice) classes during fall semester of 2014, and Social Work 3020 (Social Work Values and Ethics) class during winter semester of 2015. I have known Roxanne since August of 2014, and as her former instructor, I can assess her qualification for the internship at the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence. In my classes, which were taken during fall semester of 2014 and winter semester of 2015, Roxanne has proven herself to be an exceptional student. Her assignments were completed with excellent results, and she received A for all my classes. Her writing is particularly strong, and the quality of her work consistently exceeded my expectations. She has more than expressed a strong desire to make significant contributions to improving the lives of marginalized and oppressed populations (in her case, immigrants, LGBTQ, and people with addiction) through social work classes and field placement training, and it is without a doubt that she would be a major asset to the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence and the social work profession. In sum, I strongly urge you to consider Roxanne Rodriguez for the internship program at the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence. If you have any questions about Roxannes application or my letter of recommendation, please feel free to contact me. I can be reached at 310-990-4658 (cell phone) or by e-mail at fl4684@wayne.edu. Thank you very much for your consideration. Sincerely,
Jun Sung Hong, PhD, MSW
