To Whom It May Concern,
One characteristic that stands out about Vincent is his academic intelligence, This year, Vincent accepted the
challenge of taking AP English Literature. In our AP English Literature class, we read a variety of texts including: Al!
the King's Men, Demian, Their Eyes Were Watching God, Macbeth, 1984, and The Catcher in the Rye. Vincent has
Consistently shown a strong ability to critically read, interpret, and analyze text. He shows a deep understanding of the
‘material, but more importantly he is able to make relevant connections that further enhance the impact and significance
of the ideas. Rather than just learning to pass a test or achieve a grade, Vincent attempls to further expand and develop
his knowledge. He has an honest desire to improve and grow which is a unique and admirable, Along with improving
his critical thinking, Vincent has also made commendable strides as a writer. He continues to expand his analysis and
push his creative interpretation to achieve greater originality. Although Vincent has done well academically (4.5 grade
point average), | am confident he is just beginning to scratch the surface of his potential. He will surely strive to new
heights as he continues to face exciting and engaging academic challenges.
Another important trait that must be mentioned about Vincent is his active involvement in school and extra-curricular
activities. Along with maintaining a rigorous academic schedule, Vincent has also been involved in: Interact Club
(Treasurer), Student Government (Senior Class President), CSF (California Scholarship Federation), and Boys
Volleyball (three year varsity player). Each of these commitments requires a great deal of time and dedication.
Vincent finds a way to offer his very best effort to each and every program. This is most apparent on our varsity boys
volleyball team where Vincent, as one of our team captains, regularly leads the energy and enthusiasm of practices and
games. Although some people struggle with mounting responsibilities, Vincent excels in these situations. He enjoys
being active and involved, as he finds ways to make positive and irreplaceable contributions to each and every
program in which he is involved.
One final important trait that Vincent possesses is his personable nature. Vincent has a magnetic personality. In our
classroom students are constantly asked to work in pairs and groups. Vincent is a favorite among his peers because he
can and will cooperatively work with all types of people. He finds a way to connect with others through his
enthusiasm, humor, and friendly approach to all situations. Although this may not seem important, it is truly an
important aspect of his character. Vincent has something special, an x-factor, which will allow him to become an
invaluable member of our society. No matter where Vincent goes or what he decides to do, he will surely be
successful: he can and will make a positive impact on our society.
Itis a pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Vincent Mejia. I have truly enjoyed working with Vincent
over the past four years. He is a unique individual with a myriad of commendable traits, He will make an outstanding
addition to your program, as he will further strengthen and enhance the prestigious reputation, Thank you for your
time.
incerely,
