The term percent means per hundred. So if you are talking about 43% that means 43 per
hundred or 43 hundredths, which can be written as a common fraction or a decimal
fraction.

As you can see I above, I used the definition of percent to help me find a percent of a
number. Using the same definition, I found the percentage of a number using the common
fraction equivalent and I also found the percentage of a number using the decimal
equivalent.
