been reported by several ops.

12 In high speed CW with DSP on keying clips. At 30


WPM, the clipping gets so bad that only random dits
come through.

W4CNG offers this solution: The audio distortion issue
only occurs on SSB Mode (any band) if you do not have
the RF Speech processor turned on with a minimum
setting of 10 on the menu. Make sure that you have
proc on and a minimum setting of 10.

Some reports indicate that this problem also affects CAT


(intercommand time expands) When DSP is on. The fix
includes replacing the CPU wich also takes care of the
DSP toggle and remote control microphone issues.

Lot 11 (3C11XXXX) seems not to have this problem. It is


not clear if this problem alone will be fixed by warranty.
Sending the unit back for the CW/DSP problem will get
this fixed too.

Yeasu acknowledges that this is problem with earlier
units, it is caused by generator noise triggering SWR
protection. Two capacitors need to be replaced.
