Sometimes it seems to me that there're some unnecesary words in some English con

structions, but maybe, that is because I think in Spanish (my mother language).
For example, in "If we now TURN TO consider the origins of differents sonunds (
...)", can I write the same expression without 'TURN TO'? I mean isn't 'TURN TO'
a redundant phrase? Because If I NOW consider B, it means that before I wasn't
consider B and, therefore, now I have turned. That's why 'TURN TO' seems to me u
nnecesary. But it's probably I am wrong. In summary is the same "If we now TURN
TO consider the origins (...)" and "If we now consider the origins (...)"
