PAST PERFECT

We use it for actions that occurred before another action in the past.
As in the present perfect, the past perfect is formed with the auxiliary
verb "to have" and the past participle. The auxiliary verb is in the past.
Affirmative Sentences
Sujeto + "had" + participio pasado
Ej:
She had fnished her homework 8 oclock
The rain had left by the time we arrived at the station

Negative Sentences
Sujeto + "had" + "not" + participio pasado
Ej:
I hadn't visited the Louvre before.
he hadn't worked as an doctor for long.

Interrogative Sentences
"Had" + sujeto + participio pasado...?
EJ:
Had she already called him before she left the house?

Uses:
1) We use the past perfect to an action or event that started in the
past and that is before another action also in the past past. The
action happened first it is in perfect past and which continues in
the past simple.
2) It is used for actions that occurred before a specific time in the
past.

3) Also, as in the present perfect, with some verbs we use the past
perfect for situations that have begun in the past and continued to
a specific point in the past.
PAST CONTINUOUS
The past continuous is used for actions that occurred at a specific time in
the past. As the present continuous, it is formed with the verb "to be"
and the gerund.
To be past continued the auxiliary verb "to be" and the gerund (infinitive
+ "-ing") of the verb is used. The auxiliary verb "to be" is in the simple
past, but keep in mind that "to be" is an irregular verb.

Affirmative Sentences

Sujeto + verbo auxiliar ("to be") + gerundio


EJ:
I was working at the night.
I was eating an Apple.

Negative Sentences

Sujeto + verbo auxiliar ("to be") + "not" + gerundio.


EJ:
I was playing
We were whatch tv

Interrogative Sentences

Verbo auxiliar ("to be") + sujeto + gerundio?


EJ:
Were you talking?

Uses
1) The past continuous use it for a long action and in the past was interrupted.
2) Past continuous is used to talk about actions at a specific time in the past.

3) It continued last for two actions were happening at the same time last used.
