IPad plan for illegal apps

Phase one:
Send the following message to every iPad,
Send the following message to every phone & email via SchoolMessenger to all
students and parents.
Phase one Message: (sent on FRIDAY October 31, 2015)
Students and Parents: All of our students our receiving this message. We continually
monitor the use of all district issued iPads; please make sure that you/your student
is using our district issued iPad for student learning, both at school and at home.
This is a reminder that Social Media Apps such as Facebook, Snapchat, and
Instagram are not allowed on the district issued iPad. If you have these apps on your
district issued iPad, you are subject to disciplinary actions and risk losing the use of
the iPad.

Phase two:
Send the following message to every iPad with illegalapps (384 iPads on 10/29,
344 iPads on 11/1)
Phase two Message: (sent to 344 ipads on MONDAY November 1, 2015)
We know your iPad is not lost, but we continually monitor the use of all district
issued iPads. During our most recent monitoring of our iPads; your iPad was
identified as having unauthorized apps. Please make sure you remove those apps
that you should not have on your iPad---You have two days to remove these apps
before your iPad may be shut down to schoology and/or be taken away.
Social Media Apps such as Facebook, Snapchat, and Instagram, as well as games
such as Mortal Kombat are not allowed on the district issued iPad. If you have these
apps on your district issued iPad, you are subject to disciplinary actions and risk
losing the use of the iPad.
(Down to 261 as of the two day deadline)

Phase Three:
SHUT DOWN iPads with Facebook app (currently 65 iPads on 10/29, DOWN TO
34 on 11/4) to Schoology. Send the following message to every iPad with
FACEBOOK on the iPad.

Phase Three Message: (plan to send on THURSDAY, November 5, 2015)

We know your iPad is not lost, but we continually monitor the use of all district
issued iPads, during our most recent monitoring of our iPads; your iPad was
identified as having the unauthorized app of Facebook. Your iPad has been locked
down to Schoology and must be returned to the LMC for further assistance. Future
violations of unauthorized apps may result in you losing the use of your iPad, please
make sure you follow all of our school expectations
