My name is Jenna Maldonado and I am a senior at Sanger High School. Throughout my years in high school, I have found a passion of helping and
caring for others. This makes me want to pursue my education and career in the teaching profession.
My goal after high school is to attend Fresno State University to obtain my Bachelors degree then proceed into the credential program. Well going
through the credential program at Fresno State, I will be working as a part time sub in Fresno Unified. After the credential program I will become a
teacher for Fresno Unified and then I will work towards my Masters in Administration. Overall my goal is to make a difference in childrens lives focusing
on those from low income families.
Throughout my high school years, I have demonstrated my dedication to my school work and to my extracurricular activities. I have shown my
leadership skills through girls volleyball by being the captain of my team during my freshman and sophomore year. I have also shown my leadership
skills by being junior class representative, senior class secretary and being in student government. This has taught me to be responsible and a mentor
towards my fellow peers. Also throughout my high school career, I have shown myself to be an active citizen. I am a member of the interact club at
Sanger High which we volunteer to help out many organizations in our community. I am also a volunteer for the Fresno Police Activities League, my job
there as a volunteer is to make sure those children who are from low income families are staying out of trouble by participating in different activities.
Also every year, we wrap Christmas presents for each of the children and we get to play Santa by presenting them with presents. With my experience
of being with these children and families, I have seen firsthand struggling in life which makes me want to make a difference in these childrens lifes by
being a teacher in which shows them they can be someone.
