Chacon Principal October 30, 2015 ‘To Whom It May Concern, 1 am writing this letter of recommendation for Winter Lee. Winter is a student in my Physics H course this year. Thave tutored her in Chemistry as well, and even had the pleasure of coaching her in Varsity Tennis. In my four years with Winter, I have found her to possess a sharp mind, an thoughtful personality, and a singular energy. Winter has a sharp mind. Chemistry is a course where concepts about the microscopic world are experienced in the laboratory and quantified using a mathematical expression. Physics is similar. Students must be able to manipulate theoretical equations that explain motion and forces on objects. Laboratory activities often use calculations to correlate to theoretical properties. Winter has been able to master these skills. She provides a resource for group projects and can add to the class conversation. Even though Winter did not take my Chemistry course, I often found her coming to my class to clarify and an ask questions about science. Winter also possesses a thoughtful personality. Through my time coaching Winter, she always is respectful of other's opinions and feelings. There have been times in tennis where the team was not performing its best, and ‘tempers could easily flare. Winter has a calming affect on the group. Teammates rally around her because of her caring and calming nature. Asa coach I have had the pleasure of sharing in her success; Winter was a part a Valley Championship team in Tennis Winter possesses an unsurpassed energy. Winter not only navigates a rigorous schedule with AP courses, she is a stellar tennis player, currently Number One on the team ladder. The time commitment to a Varsity sport is unrelenting. This does not even include matches and tournaments. As a coach, I understand the demands a year-round sport has on the student-athlete. Winter has the energy to handle this well. The Physics H class is a full one this year with plenty of lively people. Winter is no exception. It is amazing to watch the level of effort from her each day. Winter Lee has a skilled mind, a caring personality, and a wonderful energy. It has been my pleasure so far to see her grow as a student, and I expect great things from Winter in the future. Winter should be considered for any achievement or award in which she applies. Her character, her work, and her strong mind deserve your consideration, Sincerely, tos David Campbell, M.Ed, Sanger High School Science Teacher / Coach (559) 524-7121 ext. 7378
