Aurum Publishing Companys business card and letterhead work in conjunction with
each other in visuals and simplicity. The word Aurum means gold in Latin, and is the
prevailing theme of the company. The serif Bookman Old Style font is used to flow with the
overarching theme of the company and still remain professional. It is stylized, clean and
meant to deviate from a more modern font. When printed, the script is meant to be Pantone
871, a metallic gold.
While the business card still originally included color, it was decided that a full white
background would make the gold typeface contrast more. The logo at the bottom, a golden
book with a laurel wreath around it, hearkens back to the Latin roots of the companys
name. The top of the business card also includes an open book with gold rays of light
surrounding it, acting as a design choice for the card alone.
The letterhead recreates the look of the business card but still acts as its own
document. Consisting of just a dashed gold line and the logo in the center, it further
establishes the credibility and professionalism of the company. Underneath, it includes the
companys name and underneath in a smaller font size, the department division the
letterhead is for. This creates credibility within the individual departments, rather than using
the same letterhead company-wide. The footer would have the name, phone and fax
number of each director who had access to the template.
