Land have naturally contain heavy metals although only slightly and has the ability to tolerate
heavy metals in it. It depends on the constituent of the parent soil material. Based on the
analysis Notohadiprawiro et al (1991), the type of ground Vertisol Sragen, Karanganyar Ferrassol
(Solo) and Regosol Kuningan (Yogyakarta) 20.9-49.8 contain heavy metals (Zn), 18.7- 35.4 (Cu),
5.6- 15.1 (Pb), and 6.4- 28.8 ppm (Ni). According to the general standard for Pb and Cd that may
exist on the ground are respectively 150 ppm and 2 ppm, but for the type of soils derived from
igneous basalt 2-18 ppm for heavy metals Pb, 6-30 ppm igneous granite, clay and 16-50 ppm
silt sandstone <31 ppm (Cannon et al in Lepp 1981). In fact Pb content in phosphate fertilizer is
7-225 ppm and the content of 0.1-170 ppm his CD this case needs to be alert.
