The provision of motorists stop and rest area along
the highway averts drowsiness and accidents of the travelers. It maximizes safety and comfort of the motorist as they return to the roadway. The Halsema highway as the major route to Northern Luzon and regarded as dangerous road in the Philippines has a potential of providing stop and rest station since it has no designated one stop facility provided. The researcher proposed to come up with the design of motorist stop and rest area in Sinipsip, Buguias that will meet the needs of the travelers and promotes the facility integrating its decent building character of the community. A descriptive type method of research was used to relate and analyze the applicable principles and theories that equates to the study. As a result, the motorist stop and rest area was found out as a complex facility provided that it services many functions for the motorists. Additionally, it gives a new appearance considering its distinctive building character and showcased an image as a remarkable to motorists both travelers and tourists. The researcher recommends to further implements guidelines in designing a stop and rest area. To maintain the appearance of the complex, the researcher recommends to the proponent to preserve the character for future renovations and additions of the facility regardless of the provided services in the complex.
