This article presents some basic considerations about spaces and sacred

and religious monuments in the city of So Jos de Ribamar, demonstrating

the manifestation of the sacred through art, expressing religious faith. The
religious space is characterized by being motivated by faith or by interest in
a religious culture, including visits to temples, monuments, buildings and
shrines or other religious practices. This work was based on bibliographical
reading to support the theoretical path of research, this work intends to
make a reflection on the enjoyment of religious sacred spaces. The survey
results indicate that the practices of the visit to these places and religious
monuments can contribute to personal growth, establish places of
communion and solidarity among people.
