FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Macon Museum of Arts and Sciences Hosts A Night with the Artists April 7
MACON, Ga., March 4, 2016 --The Museum of Arts and Sciences in Macon, Ga. welcomes you
to A Night with the Artists on April 7, 2016 from 7-10 p.m. A Night with the Artists is part of
the fourth annual Emerging Artists exhibition, open through May 29. This special cocktail
reception will include gallery talks with the featured artists, an opportunity to purchase the
exhibited works, open bar and catering by Fountain of Juice, plus artisanal bourbon tasting.
Tickets are $35.
Six contemporary Emerging Artists, representing some of the nations finest undergraduate
and graduate art programs, will display works ranging from large-scale abstract paintings to
bronze and ceramic sculpture.
This exhibition shows great commitment by the Museum of Arts and Sciences to the
education of the community of Macon and the surrounding towns about contemporary and
conceptual art, said Emerging Artist Matt Haffner of Atlanta, Ga., whose mixed media pieces
will be featured. I am honored to have been selected as one of the artists in this exhibition.
Twelve local artists from the Macon area will also display their work at the event: Jim Adams,
Cherry Brewer, Nancy Butler, Kristy Edwards, Travis Hart, Lori Mitchell, Maureen Persons, Bren
Powell, Thomas Sanders, Daly Smith, Corie Swan and Noreen White.
Zuzka Vaclavik, a local artist participating in the event said, "The night with the artists
event: one of those great occasions where the gap between private studio practice and the
mystery of creation is bridged with the public. I am looking forward to engaging in a more
intimate way with people interested in the arts and answering questions they might have about
my work or what happens on a day to day basis in the studio."
Learn more about these artists and their work by attending A Night with the Artists on April 7
from 7-10 p.m. Tickets can be purchased for $35 per person. The Emerging Artists Exhibition
will run from March 4-May 29. You can also visit the museum during regular business hours:
MondayFriday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
