Benoit Courti
Benoit Courti
Benoit Courti is a French photographer, who has had a passion for photography
since his early years. Although before becoming a photographer he embraced a
career as a music composer and the influence of music can be seen through
some of the themes of his work.
This is another image produced by Courti using a dark low key setting to
highlight an out of the ordinary tone. This image focuses on only the hands and
not the portraiture headshot, which is more commonly seen in studio set up like
this. This image highlights the position and shape of hands to suggest a musical
and classical theme to the image, running alongside Courtis music tonal
background. This image does show texture but doesnt focus on it as much as
Courtis previous image as this shot uses a zoomed out focus. However this
image does use light and shadow to highly the shape of the hands and blackout
any other body features, give a naturalistic feel to aid the dramatic effect of the
image. The image has been captured in black and white much like Courtis
previous image to allow the viewer to focus on the range of tones on the shape,
and give a smooth texture to the image.
