P.E. Reflection

1. Explain and demonstrate strategies to enhance interpersonal skills

Reflecting back on our inquiry and understanding in Acrobatic unit, it seems to be that
interpersonal skills are the key to team/group work. When working with a group, facing conflicts
is normal. However, the conflicts has to be resolved soon or else the atmosphere of the group
may significantly impact the results that group exhibits. These conflicts can be caused by many,
but the most well-known cause is communication/interpersonal skills. When working with
someone else, few contradictory arguments can be suggested in a discussion. For instance, we
had few arguments on which movements we should showcase. several ideas came up, but, there
were some suggestions didnt fit to our rhythm of Wiggle. Hence, we argued back and forth for
the result until one decided to call it off. The move called the Hell Gate was the move that we
were confronting with and the one who stated the idea had good reasonings of how the hell gate
might work better. Therefore, I believe that to enhance an interpersonal skill, we must have a
conflict first hand because it gives the students to think critically and those critical thinkings
gives the student a chance to communicate verbally and rationally. Also, while the student who
suggested the idea Hell Gate, other students were respectfully listening as if it was a Socratic
Seminar. This brings in the idea that Socratic Seminar type of discussions may also bring in or
discover skills in communicating because Socratic Seminar is a discussion where students may
speak freely and without contradictions, the others must help out others to complete their idea.

2. Develop goals and apply strategies to enhance performance

Even in performing the routines, interpersonal skills are needed. However, if we are wanting
other strategies that will help us increase the stability in performing art, many other elements
may incorporate in a performance. For example, comprehending the idea/ concept of the
performance and moves. Without understanding the meaning of the activity or not trying to think

through what movements are best fit to their team is a huge conflict the team might face when
they are working on physical activities. This means, we must acknowledge the movements that
we are doing and understand the goals before actually executing the routines.
