COLOR THEORY PROMPT

Compare and contrast these two paintings in relation to color theory. Your responses
should be written in full sentences, use at least 3 of the terms we discussed in class
today, and make 3 color related arguments/points about the paintings. Please consider
the following guiding questions when writing your response.
What does the painting look like? What is the subject matter?
What colors do you see being used in each painting?
How are the two paintings different from one another?
How are the colors used in each painting related to each other? (think complimentary,
analogous, etc.)
Does the artist have a color scheme? If so, what is it?
What feeling or vibe do the different colors achieve? How do the feelings of the painting
differ from one another?
How does the use of color create movement in the painting?
Etc.
(You do not need to answer all of the questions, and you are not limited to only
answering these questions)
