As indicated in my resume, I have worked as a piano teacher for several years and I have
volunteered and assisted in a variety of schools and learning environments. These
experiences allows me to bring a wealth of knowledge, skills and expertise to my work
with diverse students. My experience in Africa challenged me to broaden my perspective
on the confines of what a classroom should look like. That experience enabled me to
stretch my imagination and strengthen my creative ability. I have garnered a patient and
calm personality to ensure students perform to their best abilities.
During my practice teaching, I used a variety of pedagogical methods to differentiate my
teaching strategies to support all learners in the classroom. I incorporated the concept of
multiple intelligences to include all students in the engaging activities I planned. As I
continue to improve my classroom management skills, I believe that my students will learn
to their fullest potential through my creative, engaging and fun learning activities.
