CHAPTER 1 THE WORLD THROUGH OUR SENSES

1.1 SENSORY ORGANS


1. STIMULUS - changes in the surrounding. Example light and sound.
2. SENSORY ORGANS - organ used to detect stimuli. Example eyes detect
light.
3. SENSES - ability to be sensitive to stimuli. Human have five senses,
sight, hearing,smell, taste and touch
4. RECEPTORS - special structures that are very sensitive to stimuli
5. NERVE IMPULSES - electrical messages produce by receptors
6. EFFECTORS - parts of the body carry out responses. Example muscles
and glands.
