Introduction to the Project

The main purpose of the project is to maintain the record of transactions that are
performed in library. The inputs are taken by the Microsoft Access Forms and these
inputs are stored in different tables at the back end. It can also generate different reports
which show status of different books that are available in the library. In general, this
project is capable of performing all the activities related to the Library System.

Introduction to previous system

The institute was maintaining the record of the books, manually i.e. in the form of
different files etc. And record and their status on different registers.

The Problem
The problem with the previous system was that it was very difficult to locate the record
of any particular book because a lot of files have to be searched to locate the desired
record. And also when changes were required to make then whole the file system was
disturbed. For example if the if quantity of any book is changed then that quantity of the
student in the registers will also have to be changed so, cutting, erasing etc. were used to
update the system. Secondly, the record have to be located at more than one place so it
was very difficult to maintain that system.
