Details:
On 10-08-2015, at approximately 0930 hours, Officer Blue and I were dispatch to 123 Main
street Shingle Springs (The Shell Gas Station) in regards to a robbery. Dispatch advised that a
robbery just took place and the reporting party was held at gunpoint, the suspect then fled the
scene going westbound on Main street.
Investigation:
Officer Blue and I arrived on scene at approximately 0931 hours and noticed a male worker
behind the counter. I then confirmed he was the reporting party who identified himself with a CA
DL as John Doe. I obtained a statement from Doe, which summarized as follows:
Doe described the suspect as a male approximately 58 wearing a gray button up shirt with tan
shorts with a watch on his left wrist and a pair of gloves on with white shoes. The suspect came
into the gas station at approximately 0925 and held Doe at gunpoint demanding money, Doe
gave the suspect five twenty dollars bills, the suspect then fled the scene going westbound on
Main street.
I then left the reporting party and headed westbound on main street to look for the suspect. On
500th block Main street I saw someone matching the description of the suspect and contacted
him. I then directed him to raise his hand and quickly noticed a revolver in his waistband. I then
brought him to the ground and put handcuffs on then searched him and found five twenty dollar
bills on him. I then secured the money and gun.
Officer Blue then brought John Doe to the suspect to identify him with Infield show up
adMonishment. Doe confirmed this was the suspect.
I then Mirandize the suspect on scene at approximately 0941 hours, the suspect waived his
rights with a yes. The suspect then identifies himself with a CA DL as John Hopkin I obtained a
statement from Hopkin, which is summarized as follows:
Hopkin admitted to robbing the store and holding Doe at gunpoint. Hopkin really needed the
money so he demanded Doe for all the money he had.
Case Status:
Case closed by adult arrest, forwarded to DA.
