o Studied abroad for six months at Carlow College Ireland, traveling from country to
country

o I worked for the summer season as a camp counselor for the Special Recreation
Program. I worked with children ranging from mild to severe Autism and Down
Syndrome, ages 6-12. I implemented and supervised them in all camp activities
such as swimming, sports, art, and field trips.

o I worked as an assistant teacher for 2 years at an after school program. I taught
children from k-5th grade. I would help implement lesson plans that the lead teacher
produced.
Volunteer Work
Association of Horizon
o Attendant at a week long camp for adults with special needs. I assisted the camper
with all necessary personal care and also all the activities related to camp;
horseback riding, arts and crafts, boating and other group activities.
o Planned and organized a club at Morton East High School for students with
disabilities. The goal of the club was to encourage students without physical
challenges and students with physical challenges to interact with each other. We
organized outings for bowling, sports events, shopping and fundraising for the club.
