CHARTER SCHOOL 4/4/2016 To Whom It May Concern: This letter is for the purpose of recommending Mrs. Tara Michael for a teaching position in either the special education or regular education setting. | have worked with Mrs. Michael for the past three years at Roberto Clemente Charter School and Executive Education Academy Charter School. Mrs. Michael has shown a great amount of growth since | began working with her three years ago. She is currently the 9th grade Learning Support Teacher at EEACS and is an above average employee, also in good standing with her colleagues, supervisors, students, and parents. Throughout this current school year, Mrs. Michael continued to develop a progressive approach 10 delivering instruction in a way that reached all learners. Mrs. Michael has become very Proficient at planning and teaching developmentally appropriate, hands-on, student-centered lessons. For example, Mrs. Michael has implemented various different activities in the classroom to build foundational skills, such as balancing checkbooks, budgeting, writing with a focus on content and grammar, reading with a purpose, etc. As an extension to her Transition Skills elective course, Mrs. Michael planned a field trip to a local restaurant, so the students had an opportunity to use their allotted money to order food off the menu and also to leave an appropriate tip. Mrs. Michael does not only demonstrated a command of the subject matter, but also interacts with students, creates meaningful learning experiences, and facilitates class discussions in a manner consistent with an experienced teacher. Students clearly respect her and respond to her proactive approaches to classroom management. It was truly a pleasure to have her as a Learning Support teacher in our school. I highly recommend Mrs. Tara Michael for an instructional position in regular education or special education in an elementary, middle, or high school. She has proven her ability to work with all ages and excel in her talents as a teacher.
