scope

Korean Journal of Pediatrics aims to serve paediatricians through prompt publication of


significant advances in any field of pediatrics and to rapidly disseminate recently updated
knowledge to the public. The journal considers research as well as clinical work related to all
aspects of paediatrics health care.

Dr Yeong Ho Rha is the Editor-in-Chief. He is with the Department of Pediatrics, Kyung Hee
University Hospital, Seoul, South Korea and specializes in allergology, clinical Immunology,

CRITERIA FOR PUBLICATION


Korean Journal of Pediatrics publishes invited review articles, original articles, and case reports. The journal
specifies an upper limit for the number of references appended to each of these categories.

Invited review articles briefly review significant topics in paediatrics and are accepted only after editorial
review. A review should include no more than 100 references.
Original articles present the results of clinical or laboratory research and are expected to follow the
standard IMRaD format (short for introduction, materials and methods, results, and discussion) in addition to
a structured abstract. The number of references is limited to 35.
Case reports describe specific clinical cases related to important topics. Each report should consist of an
unstructured abstract and keywords, introduction, the main body of the report, and discussion, followed by
no more than 15 references.
In choosing keywords for articles and reports, authors are expected to use, as far as possible, the list of
medical subject headings (MeSH) of Index Medicus.

EDITORIAL POLICIES AND SUBMISSION GUIDELINES


All manuscripts must be submitted at http://submit.kjp.or.kr. New authors are required to register
themselves before their manuscripts can be accepted. The authors may suggest two reviewers during the
submission process. All text should be submitted as *.doc or *.docx files, which, towards the end of the
submission process, will be converted to files in PDF.

MANUSCRIPT REVIEW PROCESS
All manuscripts are evaluated by three independent reviewers. An initial decision is usually made within two
weeks after reviewers agree to review the manuscript.
GOOD PUBLISHING PRACTICES
The journal follows the practices described in Uniform requirements for manuscripts submitted to
biomedical journals: writing and editing for biomedical publication prepared by the International
Committee of Medical Journal Editors. Citations in text are indicated by numbers in brackets. The journal
offers open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public
supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. All the contributions are available as free downloads in
PDF as soon as they are published.
INDEXING & METRICS
The journal is included in a number of databases including PubMed, PubMed Central, Scopus, and CAS.
