April 12, 2016 To Whom It May Concer: It is a pleasure to write a recommendation letter for Samantha Harding. | have had the privilege to work with her two different years here at Hazelbrook Middle School. Samantha was my student teacher two years ago where she assisted me every day with low-level 7" and 8" grade math. She was reluctant to be in a math class at this level but she handled the challenge with poise and enthusiasm. | had some challenging students that year and Samantha’s counseling skills were extremely helpful to me and effective with the students. She was keenly aware of student interactions and observed many behaviors that | didn’t always see, so Samantha's ideas and insights with the students were very valuable for me as a teacher. This year, Samantha is a counseling intern at Hazelbrook Middle School and is doing an outstanding job. She assists the two existing counselors and is continually looking for ways to interact and make a difference with students. She works with a small group of 6" grade girls weekly at lunch to help them connect with other students in a meaningful, positive and safe atmosphere. Samantha will no doubt put incredible energy into her job as a counselor and her positive attitude would be an asset wherever she goes. I've watched her work with perseverance as a student to finish her degree while working a job and fulfilling her internship. She puts effort and care into everything she does.
