Subject:- Declaration of final result of Combined Graduate Level, Examination
2014 — Calling Options/Preferences from selected candidates for
allocation of Zones — Inspector (Central Excise) - regarding.
Sir/Madam,
As you would be aware, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has declared the
final results of the Combined Graduate Level, Examination, 2014. Based on these
results, your name has been sponsored by SSC to the Central Board of Excise &
Customs (CBEC) for appointment as Inspector (Central Excise)
2. As per the prevailing system, each candidate is to be allocated to one of the Cadre
Controlling Authorities, The Cadre Controlling Authority (CCA) of the concemed Zone,
to which a candidate is allocated, thereafter, issues the offer of appointment. As per
the current policy, such allocation is made on merit-cum-preference basis, to the
extent vacancies are available. There are 30 Cadre Controlling Authorities under
CBEC, the list of which alongwith Codes is enclosed as Annexure — |. The category-
wise and Cadre Controlling Authority-wise vacancies reported to Staff Selection
Commission for CGLE, 2014 is enclosed at Annexure-Il. As the vacancies relate to
16 Cadre Controlling Authorities, the preferences are to be restricted to the 16
CCAs in respect of Inspector of Central Excise in Annexure-II
3. Accordingly, you are requested to indicate your options/ preferences for all zones
in the Proforma (Annexure-IIl) indicating Name and Code of Cadre Controlling
Authorities in Column No. (2) and (3). Kindly do not leave any option blank so as to
enable us to allocate appropriate Cadre Controlling Authority as per your given choice.
The duly completed Proforma must be sent to the undersigned at the address
indicated in the Proforma by Speed post by 21° October, 2015, failing which it would
be presumed that you have no options/ preferences
4. The Proforma indicated above may also be downloaded from the website i.e.
www.cbec.gov.in and sent to the undersigned at the address indicated in the Proforma
by email/ speed post within due date.

4. The allocation shall be on merit-cum-preference basis. The submission of
options/preferences by 2 candidate does not confer any right to claim allocation of
Zones within the preferences indicated. The preferences given by the candidate is final
and the same cannot be changed in any circumstances. Similarly, if a candidate does
not Indicate any preference, the Government will be free to allocate him/her to any
zone as per the administrative exigencies.
