The tactics used during wars also contributed to the violence of Renaissance times. Renaissance times were often very chaotic because of the weapons and tactics used during these wars. Renaissance weapons had a major effeet on the ways wars were fought. The invention of cannons caused castles to change their defense tactics, Because cannons were so effective, castles had to rethink defense strategies, therefore effecting castles and they were built. A result of castles being changed was that the castles were made with curved walls to better deflect cannon ball shots, changing how they looked appearance wise. There were also many handheld weapons that changed warfare because of how deadly they were. Many types of swords including long swords and short swords were ‘Oey lethal and forced soldiers to wear better armor. In reply to beter arm hing ike battle-axes and lances were made o beter penetrate this new armor. Al of these things all affected how wars were fought. As the weapons changed, the tactics used by si also ad to be crane to Siege Warfare, commonly known as a blockade, was when a city was surrounded iy the enemy so nothing could leave or enter. Because nothing was going in or out, the city had to surrender because of lack of food and communication to the outside world. This was effective enough to make whole cities surrender; therefore new tactics were developed to better prevent this. There was a variety of different ways a soldier could fight in a war such as on foot or on horseback. If'a soldier was on foot, it was easier to use a variety of ‘weapons that a man on horse could not. However, a soldier on horseback, also known as. cavalry, was also a deadly if wielding a long sword or a lance. Because of the amount of different ways to fight a war, warfare was very fatal Renaissance times were times when warfare was at its best. The amount of tactics and weapons to choose from made it very effective. The lethalness was because of ‘weapons and how they were used alongside strategies to one’s advantage in times of war.
