CIO Executive Institute: The American Recovery and

Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) contains many provisions
which affect health care information technology (HITECH).
The suspense builds as the health IT community awaits the
final regulations from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid
Services (CMS) to participate in the EHR incentive program
for “meaningful use”. Attend the CIO Executive Institute to
understand the key provisions in the final regulations and
how you can begin to prepare your organization to achieve
“meaningful use” of EHR. Hear from some of the key
thought leaders in HITECH and learn from your colleagues at
other MEDITECH hospitals on their HITECH
implementation strategies.

Wednesday June 2

Opening Session: Kick-off the conference with this fun and

informative event. Welcome!
 Technical Summit: a forum showcasing the latest technological
innovation in accessing and protecting data. Topics will
include accessing data using smart phones and other new
technologies, desktop management, remote access, and data
encryption.

Thursday June 3

6.0 Summit: a forum with presentations from hospitals that have

made the conversion to 6.0. Attend this Summit and learn

management perspectives.
