Comprehensive Implementation Plan

Assessment:
o Population to be served is a maximum of 32 males and 44 women and children in
the homeless community.
o The learning needs of the residents we are addressing include: bonding with
children and stress management.
o Our audience may have a varying degree of developmental and mental status.
Referring to Erikson, the trust was probably not established in many of the
residents, leading to the non-progression through the developmental stages. This
pertains to mental status as well.
o Health and self-care are issues to many of the residents. This is due to lack of
resources and knowledge. The dependents of the residents are not receiving
regular and PRN checkups.
o Cultural and religious beliefs (Christianity) are practiced before each meal and
throughout the day in the facility. However, they do not turn individuals away due
to religion.
o The support system in the facility appears strong. The assistant manager is great
with the residents as well as the residents being supportive with each other.
o Residents expressed desire for this to be a temporary and non-reoccurring event.
Therapeutic Goal: To show the residents a healthy stress management technique,
socialization, orientation to seasons and bonding time with children and peers.
The group activity will resemble a mini fall fair. There will be a mask decorating
booth, marshmallow toss game and a pin the bowtie on the Skelton. A student will be at
each booth guiding the residents.
Marinelle will be at the paper plate mask making booth. The children and adults with use
markers to design their masks. Taylor will be at the marshmallow toss game. Residents
will toss mini marshmallows into cups with points and try to win candy (every participant
will get candy). Jammie will do the skeleton booth. The residents will be blindfolded,
spin around and then have to stick the bow tie on the Skeltons neck. They will also be
able to attend the other group that is going on simultaneously.
We estimate the time will be about 45 minutes, the materials will be brought and left by
the students (paper plates, candy, marshmallows, markers, Skelton, bow-tie, bandana and
markers).
Evaluation will be determined by participation and mood of the participants. We hope to
see them enjoying the games and socialization with their peers. Parents bonding with
their children will be one of the top priorities. We hope they will be laughing and
enjoying themselves, relieving stress.
