Dear Ms. Wilfert,
I am eager to express interest in the English teaching position at Desert Mountain High School.
Graduating from Arizona State University in May of 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in
Secondary Education, I am confident that I offer the skills required to meet the needs of the
students within DMHS. I am eager to meet with you to discuss the open English teacher position.
With a full year of teaching experience, as well as a year of student interning, I am confident that
I possess the qualifications suited for this teaching position. Helping students find their true
potential and leading them to academic success has been my passion since joining the teaching
program and is still my main focus today. Knowing that the Scottsdale Unified School District
also focuses on student academic success, I feel I would make a great fit in this district.
Here are major reasons why you should consider my application:

I have been on the Deans List from December 2012 to present.

Currently teaching a full year of English 101 and 102 at Desert Mountain High School,
which consist of a total of 120 students.
Experience generating lesson plans that involve higher order thinking and student
engagement.
I have always been self-driven and am excited to take on new challenges. I would like to
be given the opportunity to demonstrate my knowledge of the classroom and to be the
spark students need in order to take control of their own academic success.
