History Reflection

I really enjoyed this course, particularly the readings about slavery. Reading Fredrick
Douglass first hand narrative gave me a perspective I hadnt had before, and imparted a deeper
love and desire to learn the history of my country. Writing my paper on Douglass story allowed
me to more closely examine the relationship between education and true freedom, and the
lengths even the most desolate can go if only armed with a persistent will, and desire to learn. I
also learned how to properly construct and write a paper, so that it moves forward and flows
freely. This skill, however, is going to take quite a bit more practice, but I intend to use what Ive
learned going forward.
