Early History
Hired Red Auerbach in 1950.
Acquired Bob Cousy and drafted Bill Russell
and Tommy Heinsohn.
Proceeded to win eleven NBA Championships
from 1957-1969.
Bill Russell took over as player-coach in 1966.

Won two more titles under the leadership of
Dave Cowens and Tommy Heinsohn in 1974
and 1976.
Start of a new dynasty blossomed when they
drafted Larry Bird in 1978.

Larry Bird along with Kevin McHale and
Robert Parish ushered in three more titles in
81,84, and 86.
Drafted Len Bias second overall in 1986.
Bias overdosed on cocaine 48 hours after
being drafted.

Today
Drafted Paul Pierce in the 1998 NBA Draft.
In 2007, traded for Ray Allen and Kevin
Garnett, forming another Big Three.
Won 2008 NBA Championship against
Lakers.

1950 as Head Coach.
Was a 9x NBA Champion as
coach and a 7x NBA
Champion as executive.
Responsible for acquiring Bill
Russell, Bob Cousy, Larry
Bird, Robert Parish and
more.

Bill Russell
Drafted 2nd overall out of the University of
San Francisco in 1956.
Spent whole career with Celtics, winning a
record 11 NBA Championships.
5x NBA Most Valuable Player.
